Hollywood Skateboards Video review

A Couple of Boards, a Carton of Smokes, Case of Beer, Sack of Weed, Seven Dirts, a Video Camera and a Biscuit.

Aside from having the longest video title in skateboarding history, this is kind of an unintentional breakthrough because no one has their own part. They're all mixed together like celluloid stew in a big pot made out of hair. Typically I'd say that the concept of having one long-running video without individual sections is quite cute and clever, if it were not for the fact that it was done deliberately to spite me. I remember going on tour with the Hollywood guys to Mardi Gras and hearing Kris Markovich tell me he was working on a short promo video. I asked him how much time I had to get a part together. He said I had four months. I took those months and really laid down all kinds of hammers, shovels and monkey wrenches. Serious shit. I mean, for me it was serious shit. But I skate kind of funny. I'm sure if all of you were me, then you'd all think my shit was some serious shit. After logging some major filming hours on some crazy secret spots across the globe, I called up Kris and was all like, "Hey, Kris. I'm gonna edit my part with Kosick and was just wondering how long I should make it." For a second I thought we got disconnected because the phone was so silent. "Kris?" "Yeah, I'm here. It's just, the thing is...uh..." he struggled to find the right door to escape the bind I put him in. "You know, it's just, uh, no one has a part, Chris. We're just putting all the footage together and, uh, but you can send your footage, and I'll see what I can do." Video's out. And it's good. If you consider a video with a bunch of Markovich, Don Ngyuen, Justin Roy, Richie Belton, Dorian Tucker, Kevin Staab and Charlie Thomas footage and zero Nieratko footage any good. Like, really.
