Ghostface Killah Review
The day after Christmas I found myself at a small club owned by BB King in Midtown Manhattan to see Ghostface Killah and Raekwon perform. The show was like most shows: great performance by an artist with an awful sound system, an incompetent DJ and an unexcitable crowd. Aside from me, that is. I was having a great time, laughing at nearly every insane comment Ghost and Rae made. My favorite was when Raekwon tried to motivate the crowd to go out and stop terrorism. "Yo, for real, we gotta stop them niggas, yo." He told us. This came just days after that guy tried to blow up bombs in his shoes and was stopped by a stewardess. That's when Rae explained the seriousness of it all. "These niggas is no joke, son. Shit is mad real. Look at how son had bombs in his shoes. In his motherfuckin' shoes, God." By the emphasis in his voice you could really tell that he'd put some thought into his words, and although he was simplifying the subject to a second-grade level, his emotions more than made up for it, and then Raekwon said something that should be placed in all history books for all eternity. He killed the music and said, "But, yo, son, a bitch stopped that nigga. Can you believe that shit? A bitch jumped on that nigga and stopped his... yo, I just wanna say, big up to all women everywhere." Yeah, he said it. And you have to love that crazy motherfucker for having the balls to shed his macho exterior and let his sensitive side hang out like that. Big up, you crazy nigga.
